We’ll pick you up from your hotel at 4:00 PM for a drive in our private van to Ollantaytambo Train Station. From there, you will embark on the 6:10 AM Vista Dome Train, ready to start your journey. If you prefer to begin your adventure in Ollantaytambo, we can arrange to pick you from your hotel at 5:30 AM.
The Vistadome train service departs from Ollantaytambo, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, just two hours from Cusco. This train is designed with panoramic windows on the ceilings, offering breathtaking views of the Urubamba Valley during your journey to Aguas Calientes. The seating arrangements allow four passengers to face each other, making it perfect for sharing the experience with fellow travelers. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, the town nestled at the base of Machu Picchu, your guide will be waiting for you at the train station. You’ll have a brief moment to grab some snacks before boarding the bus that will take you up to the majestic Machu Picchu.
Now you have the chance to explore the incredible Inca city of Machu Picchu and live out your ultimate adventure. The specific circuit you’ll experience will depend on the ticket obtained when booking your tour, ensuring a unique and personalized journey through this ancient wonder.
At the end of your visit to Machu Picchu, you’ll take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch (not included). Depending on your train departure time, you may have the opportunity to browse local handicrafts or visit the hot springs. In the afternoon, the Vista Dome train will take you back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our driver will be waiting for you at the train station exit to transport you comfortably back to your hotel in Cusco in our private vehicle. Depending on your return train schedule, you can expect to arrive at your hotel between 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
The climate is quite variable. Expect sunny days, but also be prepared for cool and overcast weather. At high altitudes, temperatures can range from cool to very cold in the early mornings. Carrying a rain jacket is advisable during the wet season.
Bring binoculars, cameras, and sun protection for the best experience. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring the varied terrains of the sites visited.
